GreenQuest

Play Green, Live Clean.

The Challenge

Traditional recycling programs fail to engage high school students due to a lack of immediate feedback and incentives.

The Solution

Green Quest gamifies recycling with smart bins that sync to a mobile app, tracking student contributions, enabling inter-school competitions, awarding credits, and offering real-world rewards—making recycling both engaging and impactful.

Green Quest is an innovative initiative designed to educate and engage high school students in environmental responsibility through a game-based recycling approach. As part of the project, standard Israeli recycling bins were transformed into smart bins that connect with a user-friendly mobile app. Each time students recycle, the bins automatically track their contributions, which are instantly updated in their app profiles. Students can monitor their progress, earn recycling credits, and compete in inter-school challenges. The app also partners with local shops, allowing students to redeem credits for real-world rewards, making recycling both a rewarding and socially engaging experience that fosters accountability and community participation.

1. Qr Skenner to Identify the student and the bottles.

2. IR SENSOR making sure you can throw only one bottle.
3. Obstacle Avoidance Sensor module placed at 75% height of the bin to alert the recycling company that the bin is almost full and needs to be emptied.
4. WIFI GSM to transfer the student informations to his personal account.
5. SOLAR PANEL with a “sleeping mode” to save energy when the bin isn’t being used.
